- ➤ The Evansville Baptist Ministers and Deacons Alliance will honor Martin Luther King Jr. with two events this month. A free memorial service begins at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11 at Memorial Baptist Church, and a $75 Scholarship Banquet starts at 6 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 17 at Old National Events Plaza. 44 News
- ➤ Young and Established will host its annual Winter Coat Giveaway on Sunday at 2 p.m. in Evansville — community members can receive free coats on a first-come, first-served basis and are encouraged to arrive early. 44 News

- ➤ Indiana environmental advocates say EPA rollbacks set to delay pollution standards and cut programs like Solar for All, placing additional strain on local air and water quality. - ➤ Indiana drivers can select from five new Special Group Recognition license plates available in 2026 offering support for groups including the Indiana Fever, teachers, pollinators & two Purdue institutions. - ➤ Trevor Lakins has been named the new general manager of the Evansville Otters as the ninth leader in franchise history. He brings nearly a decade of baseball management experience (including his recent role with the RailRiders) and plans to build on the team's local tradition. 44 News
- ➤ IU grad Garrett Ewald (an IU alumnus) sprinkled holy water from the Mother of the Redeemer Retreat Center on the field during the Big Ten championship and Rose Bowl, and he plans to sprinkle more at Friday's Peach Bowl in Atlanta to enhance team spirit as voices credit its healing powers with wins.
