  • The Kiwanis Club of Historic Newburgh is collecting gently used shoes to support local projects and global entrepreneurship. Residents can drop off footwear at ERA First Advantage Realty offices, Banterra Bank, German American Bank, and the Newburgh Senior Citizens Center through mid-March — all types of shoes are welcome.  Courier & Press
  • Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden will host Social Safari, a speed dating event for local singles ages 21 to 35 on Friday, Feb. 6 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. The event features an educational talk, interactive rounds, and fun games; tickets cost $25 including two drinks, chips & salsa.  44 News
  • Residents near Oak Hill & Bergdolt Road face flooding issues when rain pools water on properties. Officials launched bids today for an Oak Hill Road expansion & replacement of sewers and inlets, with work expected to finish by the end of 2027.  14 News

  • The University of Evansville announced Wednesday that former EVSC superintendent David Smith is the first sustainability coordinator for the Promise Neighborhood to keep programs running after federal funds end. He will work with local partners — CenterPoint, United Way, Koch, and Old National Bank — to secure its long-term future.  44 News

  • Evansville Social Security workers and local seniors gathered at the Social Security office on North Green River Road on Wednesday to call for full funding and proper staffing as federal appropriations expire at the end of January — organizers demand a living wage for workers.  14 News

  • Don Mattingly has signed with the Philadelphia Phillies after a season that took him to the World Series with the Blue Jays. The baseball veteran, who helps kids in his hometown, plans a fresh start in 2026 — reuniting with family and teammates.  14 News
