- ➤ Small businesses benefited from a ticket giveaway contest that drew Hoosier fans into stores during winter. The contest, run by Locally Loved Boutique + It Can Be Arranged, awarded one fan tickets for Monday night’s college football national championship game in Miami. 14 News

- ➤ The Warrick County Coroner’s Office is asking the community for help to locate a family member of Junior Wilkins, who died on Jan. 13 at Deaconess Gateway Hospital and was last seen living at 1730 12t St. in Lawrenceville, Illinois; anyone with tips should call Coroner Alissa Salee-Enright (812) 897-8618. 44 News
- ➤ Congressman James Comer and Congressman Jim Baird propose delaying enforcement of a law (which made many hemp products illegal) until 2028 so that hemp farmers who made planting decisions under the earlier bill can adjust; Comer stressed that farmer jobs are at stake. 14 News
- ➤ After a door-to-door salesman lacking a valid license wrongly entered a home on Wednesday, Evansville Police reminded residents that all solicitors must carry proper credentials—residents are advised to check for license proof before inviting them inside. 44 News
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ On Wednesday, the Deaconess Mobile Breast Center brought advanced 3-D mammograms to One Main Financial downtown, and it will visit Petersburg on Monday, Jan. 19 and Boonville on Tuesday, Jan. 20 to offer accessible breast cancer screenings. 44 News
- ➤ USI will offer non-diagnostic ultrasounds for expectant mothers in their second or third trimester on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons through April 28 + students practice scanning techniques under experienced faculty guidance in a state-of-the-art lab. 14 News
- ➤ The county health department and Popham Construction offer free radon kits to help locals check for radon exposure. Kits are available while supplies last at the Civic Center on Jan. 23 and 30 (8 a.m.–noon) and at the Old Courthouse on Jan. 24 and 31 (9 a.m.–1 p.m.) Courier & Press

- ➤ UE named alumnus Ethan Jaworski (2024 grad) as its new head esports coach after his team's national championship win. He will lead the program by upgrading broadcasts and exploring a local partnership with the Indiana Esports Network this spring. Courier & Press
