- ➤ Volunteers helped VHS keep its doors open on MLK Day by giving shelter dogs extra walks and donating food and toys to support their outdoor time. Officials said the extra help made a big difference. 14 News
- ➤ The Vanderburgh and Warrick County Community Foundations have opened applications today for the 2026 Community Good Grants Program to support projects that help local nonprofits. Nonprofits in these counties can apply online (deadline is Monday, Feb. 23). 44 News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Gov Braun wagered with Gov DeSantis ahead of the national championship: if IU loses, he will send pork from Fischer Farms and a sugar cream pie from Wick’s; if IU wins, DeSantis will deliver stone crabs and key lime pie from Joe’s (game starts at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN). 14 News
- ➤ Officials said Ohio Street closed between Wabash Avenue and 9th Street for waterline repairs since Monday — it will reopen Wednesday before closing again on Monday, Jan. 26 for about a month. 14 News
