- ➤ The West Side Nut Club announced Tuesday that it distributed more than $105,000 among 28 local groups including the Boys and Girls Club and Habitat for Humanity of Evansville through support from its Fall Festival and Half Pot. More donation announcements are expected later this year. 14 News
- ➤ The 26th Night of Memories charity event is set for Saturday, Jan. 24 at the University of Evansville’s Meeks Family Fieldhouse, featuring notable guest Don Mattingly. Tickets cost $25 and include a 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. autograph session with free child admission when accompanied by an adult. Courier & Press
- ➤ Evansville will see frigid temperatures starting Friday, so local organizations are offering warm meals and shelter; residents can get help at centers such as the Evansville Rescue Mission and United Caring Services to beat the cold. Courier & Press

- ➤ AMC Theatres on the West Side in Evansville will resume operations later this week as repairs continue on its HVAC system (the temporary shutdown was due to winter temperatures). Company spokesman Ryan Noonan confirmed the issue prompted the closure. Courier & Press

- ➤ The Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation opened kindergarten enrollment for the 2026-27 school year yesterday — parents can enroll children who turn five on or before Aug. 1 online using evscschools.com. 14 News

- ➤ The Boonville Fire Department will assist with a large prescribed burn along Highway 61 north of Boonville with trained personnel on site to monitor conditions & residents are advised to drive with caution as smoke may reduce visibility. 44 News

- ➤ David Smith, former EVSC superintendent, was named the first sustainability coordinator for the Promise Neighborhood initiative today and will guide efforts to secure long-term impact for local children and families. - ➤ Zumper data shows Evansville rental rates fell 10% since last December, leaving median asking rents at $945 in December. One-bedroom units dropped 6% from last month and two-bedroom rents decreased 11%, making local listings 28% below the state median. Courier & Press
