CRIME NEWS

  • The final defendant in a major Indy-to-Evansville drug trafficking operation was sentenced, concluding the case with 29 individuals collectively serving 378 years for distributing large quantities of methamphetamine and fentanyl.  Courier & Press
  • A Greenwood, Indiana man, James Henley, was sentenced to 10 years in prison for orchestrating a comprehensive fraud scheme involving unemployment claims, money laundering, and identity theft, causing over $2.9 million in damages.  Courier & Press
  • Two men were apprehended for shoplifting at an Evansville Walmart, with both having previous theft convictions, and additional charges for one due to possession of drugs and existing arrest warrants.  44 News

  • The University of Evansville has added the Our Times newspaper archive, a significant source of the local Black community's history and achievements, to its library collection, following a donation from the newspaper's founder, Sondra Matthews.  14 News
