  • The annual Pancake Days fundraiser returns later this month at the Dream Center Evansville on 16 W. Morgan Street to support local youth programs with breakfast items + nonprofit networking. Mayor Stephanie Terry will attend the kickoff on Feb. 20 at 9:30 a.m.+  44 News
  • VHS and the Vanderburgh Humane Society are running the 'Litter-ally Over It' fundraiser today; for $5, donors have their names written on a paper heart dropped in a cat litter box and posted on social media + all funds support animal care. Over 30 people have already joined the campaign.  14 News

  • Posh on Main Boutique & Gifts will move this spring to a new retail space at 208 Main St.—a location formerly home to Emge Deli and next to Parlor Doughnuts. The boutique will expand its selection of clothing and gifts, and an official opening date will be announced soon.  44 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • House of Lecter will host a Bloody Valentine Weekend — a mix of romance and horror — on Feb. 13-14. The event features a stalking tour with movie villains on Feb. 13 and a 'Bloody Valentine' theme on Feb. 14, with tickets at $25 from 7 to 11 p.m.  44 News

  • Gibson County Sheriff's Office awarded first responders for life-saving calls, including Deputy Levi Sims who delivered a baby at the Flying J near Interstate 64, as part of its biannual Safe Arrival Awards ceremony.  44 News
  • Utility crews are working on a water main break on the west side that has reduced eastbound lanes on the Lloyd Expressway to one lane between St. Joe Ave and Wabash; repairs are expected to continue through this evening with final closures planned tomorrow as part of the Lloyd4U Project.  14 News

  • After months of battling an insurance error that left his physical therapy sessions at risk, Jesse Cano’s PT bill was written off by Ascension, relieving his family (with charges claimed at over $10,000 per session). The Canos are still contesting an $18,000 air transport fee while Jesse focuses on recovering from Guillain-Barre syndrome.  14 News
  • During Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month in February, Holly's House in Evansville reports weekly cases and warns parents to start early conversations with their children. Officials note that rising internet use may be linked to an increase in abuse across Southern Indiana — urging early prevention.  44 News
  • Vanderburgh County Health Department reported that the infant mortality rate dropped to 3.8 per 1,000 live births in 2024, the lowest in over a decade (officials credit the improvement to enhanced maternal healthcare and family support initiatives).  14 News
