  • Zeidler's Flowers in Evansville says red rose prices are slightly higher this year due to increased wholesale costs, and staff are working to meet busy Valentine’s Day demand (red roses account for about 70% of sales). Last-minute orders will be accepted as the holiday nears.  44 News

  • Wesselman Woods is hosting its annual Maple Sugarbush Festival on Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m., featuring an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast with Indiana-sourced syrup while closing on Friday, March 6 (prep day) and seeking volunteers 15 and older to sign up online.  44 News

  • The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that Midwest gas prices rose to an average of $2.69 per gallon for regular fuel on Monday, up from $2.65 last week.  Courier & Press

  • Evansville and Vanderburgh County were recertified as StormReady by the National Weather Service from Paducah, proving the area is ready for severe weather. The certification shows local emergency plans meet strict guidelines.  44 News
