- ➤ The West Side Nut Club approved over $373,000 in grants for 28 local schools and community groups Tuesday evening + the total donations now amount to nearly $480,000 this year. Officials credited last year’s Fall Festival and raffle for boosting support. 44 News
- ➤ Evansville Goodwill will open a new retail store in Mt. Vernon this spring. The store will offer neighbors a convenient place to donate gently used items and shop affordably while supporting local education, job training, and career support programs. 14 News
- ➤ The Salvation Army of Evansville is asking for regular egg carton donations to help transfer eggs for guest transport. Donations are accepted today from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at their North Fulton Ave location. 44 News

- ➤ The Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra will celebrate America’s 250th Birthday at Victory Theatre on Saturday, Feb. 28 at 7 p.m., featuring Conductor Roger Kalia and acclaimed pianist Clayton Stephenson with a program that blends classic pieces with projected historical visuals. - ➤ Evansville Vanderburgh Public Library will open a temporary branch at 4905 University Drive while the Red Bank location is under construction, and a materials drop box is available for returns (the site is a former Liberty Federal Credit Union). - ➤ On Wednesday, Feb. 18, Mater Dei High School moved about 20 Civil War and pioneer veteran grave sites from Babytown to St. Joe Catholic Cemetery ahead of its expansion, which will add parking and upgrade classrooms and sports areas. - ➤ USI and Amcor have partnered on a pilot project that will give seven students hands-on experience building practical packaging solutions, supported by faculty and industry experts. The semester-long project will begin in spring at USI. Courier & Press

- ➤ CenterPoint Energy urges southwestern Indiana Electric customers to sign up for Smart Cycle before the new program season begins in March so they can save on energy bills. The program adjusts smart thermostat settings (up to four degrees) during peak demand, allowing participants to earn bill credits without losing control. 14 News
