- ➤ A huge crowd attended the 12th annual Gumbo Cook Off on Franklin Street, hosted by the Franklin Street Events Association to support local nonprofits. Judges (including Mayor Stephanie Terry and University of Southern Indiana President Steve Bridges) rated entries for the rinse and repeat themed fundraiser. 14 News

- ➤ Boonville wrestler Sam Howard finished second in the 190-pound final at the IHSAA state finals on Feb. 21 — his 18-15 loss made him the first in his program to reach the final at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Four wrestlers from Mater Dei and other Southwestern Indiana competitors also earned placements. Courier & Press
- ➤ Reitz lost 53-37 to Center Grove at the IHSAA semi-state round on Saturday, Feb. 21, ending the team’s best season in 45 years. The loss caps a season that included a first sectional championship since 1990 and built a positive foundation for future play. Courier & Press
