- ➤ The Kiwanis Southwind Division hosted its 34th Annual Riley Walk-A-Thon Saturday at the mall — raising over $713,000 over 34 years to support Riley Children's Hospital and its vital pediatric services. 14 News

- ➤ Historic New Harmony will host Heritage Artisans Days April 23-24, where skilled artisans will demonstrate 19th-century trades such as basket weaving, blacksmithing, candle making and fur trading — with educational materials for students and demonstrations available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Courier & Press
- ➤ The 2026 Orchid Escape Exhibit is open at Mesker Park Zoo & Botanic Garden in Evansville from Feb. 27 until March 14, allowing visitors to experience a mix of orchids and wildlife on display. Courier & Press
- ➤ Angel Mounds State Historic Site is hosting the Women’s HERstory Celebration: Breaking the Glass Ceiling on March 14 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. CST. Six local female leaders, moderated by Erin Gibson, will share tips on overcoming work challenges, and visitors can tour the interpretive center (advance registration is required). 44 News
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ CenterPoint Energy announced Monday it will keep electric base rates stable for southwestern Indiana through 2027 after completing its 2023 rate case. In March 2026, rates will first rise by about $6.86 per month + then drop to around $4.41 after a planned adjustment. 44 News

- ➤ Today, the University of Evansville announced it will create an endowed chemistry chair from a $2 million bequest by native Barbara J. Kolb Price to boost faculty retention & support student research and innovation. Courier & Press
- ➤ Students can enroll in a new 10-week Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) Program at Ivy Tech Community College Evansville this summer as part of a partnership with Deaconess Health System. Classes will be held from May 26-July 31 on Mondays and Tuesdays at the Frank L. Hilton M.D. School of Health Sciences. 14 News

- ➤ The Evansville Police Department will host an event at the C. K. Newsome Center on March 19 for women interested in law enforcement careers (part of International Women's Month). Interested participants must register by March 16. 44 News
