- ➤ Today, the Evansville Rescue Mission opened the Susan H. Snyder Center for Women and Children to offer shelter for up to 125 residents and provide key services like a daycare, hair salon, teaching kitchen and technology lab—designed to empower women and children in need. Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry and mission President Tracy Gorman spoke at the ceremony—highlighting plans for comprehensive case management and programming to help rebuild lives. 14 News
- ➤ The Hadi Shrine Half Pot fundraiser kicks off Friday when tickets go on sale at local locations from March 14 to May 3 and the drawing will be held on May 5—funds support annual Hadi Shrine programs and now accept credit and debit cards at multiple sites. 44 News

- ➤ On March 18, 1925, a giant tornado hit the town of Griffin in Posey County (it killed 695 people and hurt more than 2,000, making it the worst tornado in U.S. history). Courier & Press
- ➤ A motorcycle rider died after his bike collided with a Kenergy work truck at the intersection of SR 1414 and SR 54 in Ohio County around 1:15 p.m.—authorities called a helicopter but he was transported by ground. 14 News

- ➤ Evansville man Johnathan Driskell, 34 and a convicted felon, was arrested on drug and gun charges when deputies searched his North 4th Avenue home Thursday and found several drugs, guns, ammo and a digital scale—he is now held without bond. 14 News

- ➤ The National Weather Service has raised the tornado risk for Friday night’s severe weather in Evansville — storms between 11 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Saturday may bring damaging winds up to 70 mph and large hail — and a second round of thunderstorms is possible Saturday afternoon. Courier & Press
