ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • High winds on Sunday just after 12:00 p.m. knocked down power lines and broke a large electrical pole near Lynch Rd and Garrison Ave in Evansville, closing the road until CenterPoint Energy completes repairs (per Evansville/Vanderburgh EMA).  14 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Evansville Water and Sewer Utility is offering an extra week of spring yard waste service from Mar. 30 through May 1 for residential customers to dispose of yard waste following specific guidelines. Republic Services will pick up the waste on regular trash days, and proper containment is required.  14 News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Residents can vote for the Courier & Press Athlete of the Week, presented by Orthopaedic Associates, by choosing a standout local athlete in Southwestern Indiana until 10 a.m. CT Friday.  Courier & Press
  • Evansville women's basketball ended its season with a 91-70 loss to Murray State yesterday in the MVC championship game held in Coralville + The team finished 10-25 after a remarkable postseason run that defied expectations.  Courier & Press
