  • The community gathers today at Blue Grass Church Main Campus to honor veteran firefighter and deputy chief David Keith Edmondson, who served 45 years and died Tuesday at age 67 — visits begin at 10 a.m., the service is at 1 p.m., and a bell ceremony with processional is scheduled immediately after.  44 News
  • Local thrill-seekers will rappel nine stories down the CenterPoint Energy building on Saturday, April 25 to raise funds for children with life-threatening conditions. Nonprofit Granted organizes the event so each participant must raise a minimum of $1,000.  44 News

  • Evansville Toys & Games will keep its window art after the city board granted the store an exception, allowing the mural to remain despite the 25 percent ad space rule. The board made the decision this week, ending concerns that began in January.  14 News

  • Angel Mounds State Historic Site hosted its Spring Equinox celebration on Friday from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. where attendees learned about astronomy and Native American mythology linked to the mounds.  14 News

  • Gas prices in Evansville increased over the last 17 days with average costs rising from $2.66 to $3.63 per gallon, and some South Side stations charging up to $3.79. AAA indicated that rising crude oil costs from overseas tensions have driven the surge, while local prices remain lower than state and national averages.  Courier & Press
