- ➤ Granted has opened registration for Over the Edge 2025, an event where participants will rappel down the Centerpoint Energy building on April 26 in downtown Evansville to raise funds for children facing life-threatening conditions. Donors must give at least $1,000 by April 17 as the group works toward a $200,000 goal, with $104,674 having been raised so far. 44 News

- ➤ An Evansville woman — identified as Stephanie Purcell — was one of eight killed in a pileup on I-70 near Goodland on March 14th when a dust storm reduced visibility, resulting in 55 injuries as 71 vehicles collided and the roadway stayed closed for over 24 hours. WEHT

- ➤ Evansville police arrested 47-year-old John Emmett Hill on Saturday after witnesses said he raped, strangled and beat a woman near the Pigeon Creek Greenway Passage on March 16, and the injured woman was taken to Deaconess Midtown Hospital for treatment. Courier & Press
- ➤ Evansville Police arrested 16-year-old Isam Clark—one of two juvenile suspects—in a shooting at Parkview Housing Project on Lodge Avenue late Saturday night, charging him with attempted murder and robbery while a victim, not expected to survive, may prompt a murder charge as another suspect recovers in the hospital. 44 News

- ➤ Indiana Department of Transportation officials say the Boulevard Left intersection on Highway 41 will open this week—shifting all left turns away from the main intersection—and adding a new pedestrian bridge for safe crossing. 14 News
- ➤ Officials with INDOT warned that fake text messages claiming unpaid tolls and extra fines are part of a smishing scam — these messages are not sent by INDOT and should be deleted. INDOT stressed it will never use text messages to notify drivers about tolls and urged caution when handling unexpected links. 14 News
