- ➤ Evansville police said a residential fire at the 200 block of South St. James Boulevard around 6:30 p.m. killed one person and crews put the blaze out within 20 minutes—detectives later secured the scene. 14 News

- ➤ An Evansville man, Michael McGuire—charged with four counts of child molesting and two counts of sexual misconduct with a minor—accepted a plea agreement in Vanderburgh Circuit Court and will be sentenced on April 30 at 9 a.m. WEHT
- ➤ An Evansville man was arrested on Thursday and charged with meth dealing after a DNA test linked a bag holding nearly 2 pounds of the drug to him—he is now held on a $20,000 bond. 44 News

- ➤ Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office Deputy Craig Carroll saved a man's life during a USI women's basketball game on March 23 by intubating him and using an AED — his quick actions helped the patient regain his pulse before being taken to a local hospital. 44 News
- ➤ Last weekend, Deputy Craig Carroll jumped into action at a USI women’s basketball game when a man lost consciousness—he intubated the patient and used an AED to restore his pulse before the patient was taken to the hospital. He was honored at the USI game on Thursday night for his life-saving actions and certified emergency medical training. 14 News
