- ➤ Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry and the Southwest Indiana Workforce Board will host the third summer resource fair on May 3 at the Water and Sewer Utility Pump Station (1200 Waterworks Road). - ➤ Autism Everyone will host the Taking Steps for Autism Walk & 5k on April 18 at the Vanderburgh County Fairgrounds, with the 5k starting at 8 a.m., the family walk at 10:30 a.m., and a $40 fee benefiting local families; Jeff Lyons will emcee. 14 News
- ➤ Presidents Neighborhood Association leaders proposed a pocket park near Covert Avenue and Highway 41 to bring green space closer to 2,200 residents. Officials said the plan could start once a year is chosen, but current efforts focus on maintaining existing parks. 14 News

- ➤ Oakland City University received WARN notices following legal counsel advice — officials report there are no immediate plans to close the school. Founded in 1885, the institution has been a vital part of Oakland City for 141 years. 14 News
- ➤ A new partnership between UE and Vincennes U today creates a direct pathway for athletic training and physical therapy graduate programs for students in Vincennes’ health care services program. Students must maintain a 3.5 GPA, complete an interview + secure faculty recommendations to join limited spots in each program. Courier & Press
- ➤ Oakland City University in Gibson County sent a WARN notice to employees Wednesday evening stating mass layoffs may begin (June 1) due to ongoing financial challenges. University president Ron Dempsey signed the email, copying Mayor James Deffendall and Gibson County Commissioners president Nick Burns. Courier & Press

- ➤ Kentucky Transportation Cabinet officials reopened the southbound slow lane on I-69 in Hopkins County after installing equipment near KY-2171 — the lane had been closed due to a sinkhole that formed earlier this week from an old coal mine site. 14 News
- ➤ The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is now accepting applications for its safe room rebate program that will randomly select 50 homeowners for 75 percent reimbursement—up to $5,000—to help protect families during severe weather; applications remain open through April 15. 14 News
