- ➤ Evansville families can explore summer jobs, camps, childcare and enrichment opportunities at the free resource fair scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 3 at the EWSU Water Pump Station (1200 Waterworks Road); free bus passes will be offered for youth. Courier & Press
- ➤ The Salvation Army of Evansville will host its annual War on Hunger drive on April 17 and 18 to help families facing food insecurity + several volunteer spots remain open at Schnucks locations. 14 News
- ➤ The city has approved plans for a new splash pad at the former Lloyd Pool site with three zones for kids of different ages. Bids are being sought today and officials expect the project to open by early fall — a free resource for local families. Courier & Press
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ INDOT will close the southbound passing lane of I‑69 near Oak Grove Road today for bridge maintenance. The work is expected to last until early June and may cause ramp closures and delays — drivers are advised to slow down. Courier & Press
- ➤ The Indiana Department of Homeland Security is accepting safe room rebate applications that will pay 75 percent of installation costs up to $5,000 (only for homeowners who have not begun construction), and applicants must apply by April 15. 14 News
