ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A tornado touched down in Posey County on April 2nd during severe storms—an EF1 event that lasted less than a minute and caused minor damage to homes including shingles, soffit, or siding.  WEHT
  • Evansville Police are investigating a serious crash that occurred around 12:40 a.m. Sunday on North First Avenue near Uhlhorn; several people were injured, with two victims hospitalized and an 18-year-old losing consciousness (possibly due to internal injuries).  14 News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • An Evansville business owner, Charlie Brooks—Mr. Carpet Cleaner—said his crews will offer free basement cleaning over the next three days to help residents with flooded basements who cannot afford service. He added that community donations are encouraged to cover the cost of diesel fuel.  14 News

CRIME NEWS

  • Evansville Police arrested 42-year-old Kenneth Fox after he passed out in the Taco Bell drive-thru around 2:40 a.m. on Sunday—he failed field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol content of .214.  14 News
  • Evansville Police said videos circulating from Saturday night at Chaser’s Bar on Franklin Street show security staff attacking a patron who was sent to the hospital with several broken facial bones—his father reported that four bouncers were involved and police are reviewing surveillance and cell phone footage.  14 News
  • Evansville Police cited a man after finding two dogs—one a poodle mix kept in a crate and the other a pit bull mix tied to a fence with a five-foot leash and no food or water—at a home in the 600 block of Jefferson Avenue on Saturday afternoon during heavy rain.  14 News

  • State officials confirmed that travel advisories remain in effect in Vanderburgh, Warrick, and Spencer counties — a yellow alert due to local flooding that may restrict routine travel. Although conditions have improved as the rain moved out, drivers are advised to remain cautious and avoid driving through water.  14 News
