  • D-Patrick Honda in Evansville presented a $1,500 check on Wednesday through his Honda Helping Kids campaign to support the Albion Fellows Bacon Center— a nonprofit that helps victims of domestic and sexual violence in 11 counties.  44 News

CRIME NEWS

  • Evansville Police are searching for Angela Marie Lindsey—42 with brown hair, blue eyes, about 150 pounds, and tattoos including a rose on her lower right forearm and mom and dad on her arms—who was last seen near South Weinbach and Washington Avenues on April 6.  44 News
  • Vanderburgh County authorities executed a search warrant at a home on Harlaxton Drive and found marijuana, cocaine, meth and other drugs in 31-year-old Tyler Vest’s bedroom — Vest admitted the drugs were his and he was booked on drug possession charges.  44 News
  • Gibson County authorities arrested 40-year-old Jennifer Wilkerson on Tuesday after she failed to return a rented U-Haul vehicle — the vehicle was later spotted on Glendane Street in Princeton and she was booked for Vehicle Theft and Possession of Paraphernalia.  44 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Crews began installing flood wall gates on Evansville’s river front on Wednesday as officials prepare for the Ohio River to reach about 48 feet—nearly matching the 1945 flood level—and said pumping operations will start at 26 feet while a computerized system will activate past 32 feet.  WEHT
  • St. Joe Avenue will be closed today from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. for storm debris cleanup between Schenk and Orchard roads—only emergency vehicles may use the road. Residents with questions should call the highway department at 812-435-5777.  WEHT

HEALTH NEWS

  • Deaconess broke ground near the intersection of Lynch Road and North Green River Road at 5001 Healthy Way for the region's first combined emergency and urgent care facility, which will open in 2026. The three-story, 19000-square-foot building will house medical offices, imaging services and an outpatient lab — it will use a billing model that charges patients only for the care received.  44 News
  • Deaconess broke ground at 5001 Healthy Way on the region’s first combined emergency and urgent care facility that features a three-story building with medical offices, imaging and an outpatient lab—totalling about 60,000 square feet. The facility is slated to open in 2026.  WEHT
