- ➤ First Federal Savings Bank awarded United Caring Services $25,700 through its Community Multiplier-Member Match Program to help move individuals out of homelessness into permanent housing. The organizations will host a check presentation ceremony Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the bank’s corporate headquarters. 14 News

- ➤ Evansville fire crews responded to a small fire seen on the roof of Mission Grounds at Washington Square Mall just before 4:30 a.m. and evacuated several Timeout Lounge employees as a precaution while officials confirmed the mall is safe and operating normally. 14 News

- ➤ A not guilty plea was entered Thursday for Chaser’s security guard Sean Shell, who was caught on video dragging, kicking, and beating bar patron Shane Hendrix at Chasers as he is ordered to avoid the victim and the bar while his review hearing is set for August 6 and his fellow bouncer Johnathon Turner will appear for a status of counsel hearing on April 22 (both men are out on bond). 14 News
- ➤ Evansville Police arrested 31-year-old Tyler Vest on drug charges Wednesday and later charged him with child exploitation after a tip said he uploaded an image of child sexual abuse on a messenger service, leading to a home search that recovered multiple drugs, a computer, and a cell phone. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Officials in Princeton are assessing damage today after an EF-1 tornado tore through neighborhoods near Seminary Road and Oak Street, damaging 8 blocks and reaching wind speeds of up to 105 mph. City leaders report no injuries and advise residents to avoid the area while emergency crews work. 14 News
- ➤ Burdette Park will be temporarily closed today due to severe flooding that has blocked the park’s east side and made Nurrenbern Road impassable—county officials have advised overnight campers to seek alternate lodging as rising river levels threaten the west entrance. Courier & Press

- ➤ The Evansville Levee Authority is using its levee system to protect the city from flooding as the river is expected to crest at 48 feet. Superintendent Michael Herke said the system built after the 1937 flood uses measures like closing gravity gates, operating pump stations, and setting flood gates—steps that will prevent water levels from reaching dangerous heights. 14 News
