- ➤ Casey Depriest, the Tri-State’s Remarkable Woman winner for her work with children and adults with autism, traveled to Los Angeles to meet with other honored women from across the country. One woman will be named a national remarkable woman later in the event. WEHT
- ➤ At the Ford Center, police and firefighters boxed in the Guns and Hoses event while Mayor Stephanie Terry sang the national anthem. The Guns won 9—6 to raise funds and awareness for Prader-Willi Syndrome and local charities that support children and adults with disabilities. WEHT
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Deputies had to reach Skylane Airport—by moving through nearby neighborhoods due to flooding—to investigate a minor plane crash where landing gear issues caused the aircraft to pitch forward on the runway just after 4:30 Saturday afternoon, but both the pilot and passenger were unharmed. 14 News

- ➤ Evansville Police said that on Sunday morning at about 3:30 a.m. they swerved to avoid a drunk driver who pulled into oncoming traffic on Washington Avenue, and later arrested 26-year-old Doniecia Burris who had a BAC of .188 + faces charges for drunk driving and driving with a suspended license. 14 News

- ➤ The Courier & Press has launched its Student of the Week poll to honor local high school students, accepting school official nominations and online votes from 4 a.m. Monday until 9 a.m. Thursday—votes suspected of using bots will be disqualified. - ➤ Ohio River water levels near Evansville decreased when crews assessed the river on Sunday afternoon — the Emergency Management Agency reported that some areas already showed a drop. WEHT
