- ➤ The Evansville Wartime Museum will host a family-friendly event to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary on Saturday, Apr.18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with live music, history demonstrations & interactive exhibits, and tickets are $14 with discounts for eligible groups. 14 News

- ➤ A study by Purdue University and the U.S. Department of Energy finds that counties restricting wind and solar power lose nearly 9,000 jobs and about $200 million in economic activity yearly, even as tax abatements rise up to $60 million. The analysis was released today. Courier & Press
- ➤ Gas prices in the Midwest reached $3.89 per gallon on Monday, a rise from $3.77 last week, as traders factored in heightened tension in the Middle East and spring driving season demand. Analysts expect prices to rise another 20 to 30 cents in the coming weeks. Courier & Press

- ➤ YMCA Camp Carson will start major updates and safety improvements with a Lilly Endowment grant to boost its facilities and capacity—part of a statewide initiative for Indiana residential youth camps. 44 News
- ➤ USI opened its remodeled Archie's Pantry on April 15 in Room 1265 of University Center East to offer students fresh produce, meat, dairy, and nutrition education. The expanded resource, in partnership with the Tri-State Food Bank and Feed Evansville, equips Food and Nutrition students with hands-on training. 44 News
- ➤ The University of Evansville will dedicate a memorial bench this Saturday at 2:30 p.m. on the Sesquicentennial Front Oval to honor Zerah Priestly Carter — its first African American graduate who taught locally and became the town's first Black Methodist minister. - ➤ University of Southern Indiana announced new tailgating rules that will be enforced on Saturday, April 18 at the Baseball Alumni Weekend at the parking lot along the third-base side; the policies allow tailgating only in designated zones (with restrictions on alcohol for those 21+, grill type, tent size, and duration). 44 News

- ➤ The Indiana Department of Environmental Management is offering free water testing for private well owners in its 2026 groundwater survey, and homeowners must apply online by June 1. Selected participants will be contacted for sample collection between June and October. Courier & Press
