- ➤ The Evansville Police Department will host Pickleball with the Police on April 25 at CK Newsome Center, offering three sessions (8–10 a.m., 10:30 a.m.–12:30 p.m., and 1–3 p.m.) with limited spots and prize packs for winners. 44 News

- ➤ CenterPoint Energy is offering free smart thermostats through its Online Energy Efficiency Store with eligible rebates applied automatically. The devices help users control heating and cooling (as noted by President Mike Roeder) to lower energy bills. 14 News

- ➤ Ascension St. Vincent partners with local first responders to launch the Safe Prom Series today at Castle High School in Newburgh — the program uses mock scenarios to show the risks of distracted driving as prom season nears. 44 News
- ➤ The University of Evansville will dedicate a memorial bench honoring alumna Zerah Priestly Carter (a trailblazer who opened doors during segregation) at 2:30 p.m. tomorrow on the northeast side of the Sesquicentennial Front Oval. - ➤ The Department of Energy ordered CenterPoint Energy to keep the Warrick County coal plant operating until June 21 even though the company warned that its 103.7-megawatt unit is costly and unreliable (the emergency order was issued on March 23 after CenterPoint requested its expiration). 44 News
