- ➤ Today, local nonprofit Granted hosted its 5th annual Over the Edge event at the CenterPoint Energy building where participants rappelled nine stories to raise funds for children battling life-threatening conditions in the Tri-State area. Organizers said they will open the Granted House of Hope in June + serve more families. 14 News
- ➤ The Salvation Army of Evansville reported strong support from local residents as its War on Hunger food drive collected 3,559 food items and $3,812 in donations, surpassing last year’s totals. This success ensures more families receive needed assistance. 14 News

- ➤ Your Brother's Bookstore ended its Main Street location on Independent Bookstore Day. The new branch will open across from the Willard Public Library on First Avenue by the end of May and offer more space for books + parking. 14 News

Annual Memorial Day Service
Sunset Funeral Home, Cremation Center & Cemetery (1800 St. George Road, Evansville) will hold its annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 10 a.m. The service, which is open to everyone, will be conducted by Charles Denby VFW Post #2953, who will lead the ceremony and read aloud the names of every veteran interred at Sunset over the past year.
