ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At around 7:28 p.m. April 27, firefighters responded to an active fire at an apartment complex on the 2600 block of Arbors Drive—crews continue working to contain the blaze.  14 News
  • A fire started at an apartment on Sterling Drive on April 27th and quickly spread to a neighboring building—officials reported no occupants were inside but noted pets were present, and the cause is still under investigation.  WEHT

CRIME NEWS

  • Officials said they got a call at 7:13 p.m. Sunday near Dimond Avenue and Kratzville Road about a water rescue and found a body in Pigeon Creek in Evansville — the county sheriff’s office, fire department and AMR are investigating the case.  WEHT
  • An investigation is underway after authorities reported that a possible explosive device was thrown through a home window on the 2400 block of North Fares Avenue Sunday morning—surveillance footage captured a dark-colored SUV that stopped before the incident and fled while investigators noted broken glass, burnt paper, and white powder, though they believe the object was fireworks.  WEHT

  • On April 17 at 5:45 p.m., Willard Library's security footage showed a door near the elevator open and close as staff had already locked the building—sparking talk of the famed Grey Lady ghost that many believe has haunted the library for decades.  Courier & Press

  • A major oatmeal distributor recalled 63,000 pounds of rolled oats for possible plastic contamination in shipments sent to Indiana and California—20 totes of Regular Rolled Oats #5 and 17 totes of Quick Rolled Oats #21, and the voluntary recall ended on April 25.  Courier & Press
