- ➤ Indiana State Parks will offer free admission on Sunday, May 3 for Welcome Weekend to begin the outdoor recreation season. Discount codes will lower camping rates through May 13 and inn specials will apply for two-night bookings through May 21. Courier & Press
- ➤ The Tri-State Food Bank seeks new sites to distribute monthly food boxes to seniors amid rising grocery prices. Organizations in Edwards + Wabash Counties in Illinois + Henderson County in Kentucky may contact the food bank as it plans to expand its network in coming months. 44 News
- ➤ Little Caesars will host Customer Appreciation Day on Saturday, May 2 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 2101 North Green River Road. The first 50 guests in line will receive free pizza for a year—plus enjoy a prize wheel, face painting and live DJ music. 14 News
- ➤ Santa’s Reindeer Ranch in Santa Claus welcomes two new reindeer babies, Frankie (born April 25) and Denali (born April 27); both moms are doing well. The ranch invites visitors to see the reindeer along with mini highland cows and porcupines. 14 News

- ➤ The EPA is cleaning up asbestos and PCB-contaminated debris at the former Morton Avenue warehouse site that burned in 2022. The agency will continue removal work through the summer and use methods (water spraying and air monitoring) to keep risks contained. Courier & Press

Annual Memorial Day Service
Sunset Funeral Home, Cremation Center & Cemetery (1800 St. George Road, Evansville) will hold its annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 10 a.m. The service, which is open to everyone, will be conducted by Charles Denby VFW Post #2953, who will lead the ceremony and read aloud the names of every veteran interred at Sunset over the past year.
