GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ State Road 62 near Saint Croix will close on Monday, May 11 for two weeks for culvert replacement between Cloverdale Road and Oklahoma Road (detour via State Road 145 to I-64 to State Road 37). Drivers are advised to slow down and use caution near the work zone. 14 News
- ➤ The Indiana Department of Transportation announced that State Road 70 near Troy will be closed beginning Monday, May 11 for a box culvert replacement project and may affect local travel until early August (motorists should use the detour via U.S. 231 to State Road 66). 14 News
- ➤ Indiana Governor Mike Braun signed HEA 1177 to expand the employer child care tax credit so companies with up to 500 employees can now offer in-house care or contract services to help working families. Business leaders expect the law to remove barriers for job seekers and strengthen the local economy. 14 News

Annual Memorial Day Service
Sunset Funeral Home, Cremation Center & Cemetery (1800 St. George Road, Evansville) will hold its annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 10 a.m. The service, which is open to everyone, will be conducted by Charles Denby VFW Post #2953, who will lead the ceremony and read aloud the names of every veteran interred at Sunset over the past year.
