- ➤ Community members gathered yesterday at the Four Freedoms Monument in Vanderburgh County to support ultrarunner Suzan Brydon—an advocate for youth empowerment—who began her 2,000-mile run across the Midwest. She will average about 23 miles per day over 90 days while raising funds for Girls on the Run and the American Discovery Trail Society. 44 News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Evansville police arrested 45 year old Carrie Waggoner on Friday after she made at least 31 calls in one month; officers came to her apartment for a welfare check, and when she did not answer until a third call, they carried her to a patrol car because she had no emergency. WEHT
- ➤ On Friday night just before 9 p.m., Evansville Police arrested 29 year old Lomante Williams after his car drifted off Norman Avenue and ran onto the sidewalk twice, and officers found he smelled of alcohol, had three passengers in the car, a reckless driving warrant from Sullivan County, no license, and failed multiple sobriety tests. 14 News
- ➤ Police say Vincenzina Bullock was found high on meth on Friday night on Belmar Lane (she ran naked and asked a neighbor to care for her four children after her husband was arrested) while DCS now has custody of the children and she faces child neglect charges. 14 News
- ➤ Evansville Police investigated animal cruelty at a home on Crystal Court after they were called Friday night to check on reports of many animals left without food or water and later contacted Animal Control. 14 News

- ➤ At USI, hundreds of students celebrated their academic achievements at the Spring Commencement ceremony last Saturday night when family and friends cheered as graduates walked across the stage to receive diplomas. The program featured award recognitions and inspiring speeches — a fitting farewell to years of hard work. 14 News
