CRIME NEWS

  • Officers pulled over a speeding driver on Theater Drive Tuesday night and found about 54.5 pounds of marijuana in three duffle bags after K9 partner Dozer alerted them — Jeremiah C. Stewart was arrested and is held without bond — police said.  14 News
  • Evansville Police are asking for help to locate 13-year-old Abrielle Craft, who was last seen near Woodland Park Apartments on Sunburst Avenue on May 10 (she is 5-foot-4 and weighs 125 pounds) (she wore a gray hoodie and sweatpants) and advise anyone with information to call 911.  14 News
  • Two men were arrested on marijuana dealing charges linked to a deadly home invasion shooting on Sweetser Avenue in Evansville—police said a resident fatally shot one of the intruders and searches recovered nearly 3,500 grams of marijuana.  44 News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The 113-year-old Evansville Masonic Temple had its basement flooded twice, once on April 25 and again after Monday’s rain, after heavy storms raised river levels—damaging its original china and crystal store. Repairs may cost nearly a quarter of a million dollars and affect 23 organizations using the building, with officials fearing more damage if additional rain falls.  14 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Indiana Department of Transportation announced that ramp and lane closures on westbound I-64 and the northbound I-69 offramp in Warrick County will begin around May 27 for a two-week pipe installation project—drivers are asked to use the interchange as a detour—and slow down near work crews.  14 News
