- ➤ The VCFD is hosting a free weather preparedness safety fair Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Station #1 on East Baseline Rd where families can learn fire safety — including fire truck tours and gear demonstrations — and enjoy food. 14 News
- ➤ In Lynnville, the library’s new sign has been installed to signal a fresh start after a fire in April 2024 damaged its building — officials have not yet announced an opening date. 14 News
- ➤ The splash pad at Lou Dennis Community Park in Newburgh opened Saturday and will operate 10 to 7 tomorrow — starting May 26, it will open Tuesday through Sunday with Memorial Day activities planned in the Lou Room. 14 News

- ➤ Burdette Pool is now open for its 78-day season until Aug. 9, giving kids, friends and families a place to swim and enjoy diving boards, slides and concessions in town. 14 News

Annual Memorial Day Service
Sunset Funeral Home, Cremation Center & Cemetery (1800 St. George Road, Evansville) will hold its annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 10 a.m. The service, which is open to everyone, will be conducted by Charles Denby VFW Post #2953, who will lead the ceremony and read aloud the names of every veteran interred at Sunset over the past year.
