- ➤ Today, the LifeVest program began providing free life vests to children at pools in Evansville as Maria Morrison and her husband set up stations starting at Rochelle Landers Neighborhood Pool then moving to two more community pools. Inspired by a personal tragedy, Morrison said the program—designed to prevent drownings and eventually become law—aims to keep kids safe while swimming. 14 News

- ➤ Evansville Police are searching for two men suspected of stealing a case of vapes worth about $300 to $400 from Marathon on First Avenue around 6:30 a.m. Friday — one distracted the clerk while the other fled in a red SUV and later tried using a card that was not his. 14 News
- ➤ Three individuals from Louisville were arrested in Evansville on trafficking charges after police found 980.4 grams of meth and cocaine in a Toyota Avalon during a traffic stop on I-69 near mile marker 20—authorities said the vehicle made 21 trips between Louisville and Evansville in the past 30 days and the suspects are now held in Vanderburgh County Jail with bonds of $100,000 for two and $50,000 for the other—. - ➤ Evansville Police reported a suspect drowned after reportedly fleeing officers at Marina Pointe at 850 LST Drive on Saturday morning when he returned to the scene amid a stolen vehicle report and fell down an embankment into the water, and a multi-hour search by police and fire officials led to his death — Henderson will handle the investigation. - ➤ Evansville police reported one person was taken to the hospital after a hit-and-run at the intersection of Washington Avenue and Burkhardt Road just before 4:30 p.m. on Friday— the 71-year-old victim suffered chest injuries— and the suspect’s vehicle was later found while the driver was not located.
