COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Many residents joined Evansville’s 10th annual Memorial Day run Monday morning as organizers honored veterans and celebrated a long-standing community tradition.  44 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • On Monday, free Memorial Day services honored local veterans with events at Sunset Funeral Home’s Chapel of Peace at 10 a.m., Veterans Plaza near Oak Hill Cemetery at 11 a.m., and the Owensboro Sportscenter War Memorial at noon, where local names were read.  14 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • INDOT will begin major traffic changes on the Lloyd Expressway today as crews close a section of Red Bank Road and restrict eastbound ramps to University Parkway, forcing drivers to detour via Pearl Drive. Additional short stoppages at Burkhardt Road and Cross Pointe Boulevard will happen through Friday.  14 News

    Sunset Funeral Home, Cremation Center & Cemetery (1800 St. George Road, Evansville) will hold its annual Memorial Day Service on Monday, May 25, 2026, at 10 a.m. The service, which is open to everyone, will be conducted by Charles Denby VFW Post #2953, who will lead the ceremony and read aloud the names of every veteran interred at Sunset over the past year.
