  • Several Memorial Day ceremonies took place on May 26th across the Tri-State – with services held at Lutheran, Sunset, and Parklawn Cemeteries in Evansville and at Central Park in Henderson to honor fallen service members.  14 News
  • On Memorial Day, Tri-State families gathered at Wesselman Park in Evansville to celebrate the unofficial start to summer+ children played on the playground while parents enjoyed the sunny day.  WEHT

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A bicyclist died when a vehicle hit him at South Evans Avenue and Bellemeade Avenue around 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Evansville—police took the driver for a blood draw and are still investigating the crash.  44 News
  • On May 26, a car hit an apartment building on the 1500 block of North Roosevelt Drive when the distracted driver veered left—resulting in minimal damage and no injuries.  14 News

  • Legendary country and gospel group The Oak Ridge Boys will perform at the Aiken Theater at Old National Events Plaza on Thursday, September 25 — tickets and limited VIP packages are available online.  14 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Feds approved Indiana's plan to ban soda and candy from SNAP benefits and the rule will take effect Jan 1 — Gov. Mike Braun said the change will help shift SNAP funds toward healthier food choices, making Indiana the first state to use such a waiver.  44 News
  • INDOT announced that the left lane on I-69 is closed in both directions between Boonville New Harmony Road and the Highway 57 exit today—crews work on the median and expect to finish within a week if weather holds.  14 News
