  • Evansville's city pools will open this weekend on May 30, offering pool hours, family fun nights, and affordable swim lessons starting in June. Residents can choose among three locations — Lorraine, Mosby, and Rochelle-Landers — for a season of community recreation.  Courier & Press
  • On Saturday, May 23, a winning $50,000 lottery ticket was sold at EZ Mini Mart on Hogue Rd in Evansville and ticket holders are advised to secure their tickets & contact Hoosier Lottery for claim instructions.  14 News

  • Indiana utilities are preparing to meet the energy needs of expanding data centers from Amazon, Google and Microsoft+ NIPSCO, Indiana Michigan Power and AES plan natural gas, battery and renewable projects for sites in Hobart, Fort Wayne and Monrovia while Duke Energy and CenterPoint adjust power contracts for rising demand.  Courier & Press

  • James Bethel Gresham, one of Evansville’s first American combat fatalities from World War I, is honored at Locust Hill Cemetery this Memorial Day season as local caretakers and historians invite all ages to remember his sacrifice + explore the city’s legacy.  14 News
  • Downtown Evansville hosts the WNIN Jazz Fest with a Downtown Locals Jazz Walk starting Friday, Jul. 17 at 5 p.m. from Entwined Wine Bar with stops at local venues, and Saturday night brings jazz from Monte Skelton’s All Star Band + BG3 on Main Street. The event is free.  14 News

  • Friends of the Patoka River National Wildlife Refuge is hosting a free event at Wirth Park where a live bald eagle will be on display. The presentation, starting at 10 a.m. on June 6, covers the bird's tumultuous history + commemorates the nation’s 250th anniversary.  Courier & Press

  • Drivers face traffic changes today as the eastbound ramps on University Parkway and a stretch of Red Bank Road south of the Lloyd Expressway close for construction; detour routes are marked, with the ramps expected to reopen in about 30 days and the road work ending in about two weeks.  44 News
  • Mayor Stephanie Terry has launched My Summer Ride, a free METS bus program for kids under 18 to reach summer jobs, programs and parks until Aug. 7 — passes are available at CK Newsome Center, the METS Admin Building and public pools.  14 News
