- ➤ The Franklin Street Bazaar kicked off today on the West Branch Library lawn with around 80 local vendors offering goods, live music and free yoga sessions. The event will continue each Saturday through August—drawing local community members in pleasant weather. 14 News
- ➤ On Saturday night, Jacob's Village hosted its annual Midnight Masquerade prom where residents enjoyed free glam sessions—guests saw a parade of antique and hot rod cars and festive music and decorations that made the night feel magical. 14 News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, a struggle over a firearm at the corner of Baker Avenue and Negley Avenue in Evansville led to a non-life-threatening shooting—police arrested one person for possessing a stolen weapon and continue investigating the incident. 44 News
- ➤ An Evansville man, 22-year-old Devonte Polk, was arrested for Resisting Police and Reckless Driving on Saturday morning after he sped on Pollack Avenue and turned off his headlights to evade officers—he was later found parked on Colts Lane and taken to jail. 14 News
- ➤ Evansville Police arrested 27-year-old Erik Pedro-Ruiz on Friday night at the 1300 block of East Indiana Street after his car crashed into a parked car while he was highly intoxicated—witnesses said he nearly struck another driver before crossing back over the center line, and he was charged with Drunk Driving and Operating Without a License after being taken to the hospital and then to jail. 14 News
