  • The Hadi Shriners state that if you hold the winning number A-46694144, you have 30 days to claim your prize at the Hadi Shrine Temple in downtown Evansville as the deadline is 5:00 p.m. on July 1; a new raffle will run at the Hadi Shrine Circus on Thanksgiving weekend.  14 News
  • Local organizations, including the J.D. Sheth Foundation and Evansville Police Foundation, provided a customized truck for Officer Sam Taylor — injured on duty last September — that adapts to his physical needs and hobbies.  14 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Four Silver Aces dancers were among 36 performers chosen nationwide for America’s 250th National Independence Day Parade in Washington, D.C. They will perform on Constitution Avenue from July 2 to 5 to showcase Evansville’s talent.  44 News
  • YWCA Evansville is hosting its 22nd Annual Women’s Equality Day Luncheon on Wednesday, Aug. 26 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will feature a presentation by Stepping Up Evansville & a keynote speech by Dr. Chelsey R. Carter.  14 News
  • River City Pride and Industry Bar are hosting Evansville’s inaugural Pride Wrestling Event free for all ages at Industry Bar on Sunday, June 7 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.—the event is part of the local Pride Weekend celebration.  14 News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Oakland City University’s President said donor funds to cover employees’ paychecks had not been received as expected on Monday — funds will be wired tomorrow or Wednesday to cover two missed paychecks and one due on Friday.  14 News
  • Evansville Police launched the Read to Succeed summer reading series to boost children’s interest in reading; the kickoff event was held Monday at 5:00 p.m. at Barnes & Noble on South Green River Road.  14 News

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Evansville Otters visited Peyton Manning Children's Hospital Monday and spent time with young patients to offer emotional support and a break from hospital routines. The visit brought smiles and boosted morale for local families.  44 News
  • The Vanderburgh County Health Department received thousands of condoms from the National Coalition of STD Directors through the Condom Connect application; officials say this donation aims to reduce stigma and normalize condom use in our community.  14 News

SPORTS NEWS

  • North beat Reitz by a score of 7 to 1 at Bosse Field & secured the Class 4A sectional championship.  Courier & Press
  • Six Evansville-area baseball teams won IHSAA sectional championships on Monday, June 1, with the North Huskies defeating Reitz 7-1 at Bosse Field to earn back-to-back titles. Other sectional winners from Class 3A, 2A, and 1A set the stage for regionals later this week.  Courier & Press
