- ➤ Gibson County authorities said that 77-year-old Patrick Waite turned himself in after he shot his wife, 61-year-old Alma Waite, her 81-year-old mother, and her 39-year-old son on May 29 in Haubstadt—his other son suffered serious gunshot wounds. 44 News
- ➤ Authorities confirmed that three victims—61-year-old Alma Waite, 39-year-old Fernando Tapia Ramirez Sr. and 81-year-old Gloria Garcia Tapia—were killed in a shooting near Haubstadt last week when 77-year-old Patrick Waite allegedly shot them after calling 911 and surrendering, while a fourth person survives in hospital. - ➤ Patrick J. Waite, 77, from Haubstadt was charged on Monday with three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder after he confessed on Thursday to shooting his wife, his son-in-law, and his mother-in-law during a dispute over home ownership, and he critically injured another family member when he called 911 to surrender. - ➤ Evansville youth 18 and under will ride METS buses free this summer on the My Summer Ride pilot (running from June 2 until August 2) as announced today by Mayor Stephanie Terry. Bus passes can be picked up at the CK Newsome Center, the METS Station, and public city pools, and high school students over 18 must show school ID or a report card. 14 News
- ➤ The City of Evansville announced the 'My Summer Ride' program to offer free METS bus rides for students and individuals under 18 this summer. The rides are available from June 2 through Aug 2—pick-up is at the CK Newsome Center, METS Station and public pools—to help young riders reach jobs, summer camps, libraries and parks. 44 News
- ➤ Evansville Mayor Stephanie Terry announced yesterday the pilot initiative My Summer Ride, which offered free METS bus service to youth 18 and under and to high school students over 18, running from June 2 to August 2 to help reduce travel barriers for jobs, camps and libraries. The city distributed bus passes (available at the CK Newsome Center, METS Station and public pools) and required eligible riders (showing school ID for those over 18) to get on board. WEHT
- ➤ Evansville drivers face two temporary ramp closures on University Parkway starting today for pavement replacement work—closures will run until mid-July. INDOT said the northeast exit ramp from the westbound lanes and the northeast entrance ramp from University Parkway to westbound lanes will close while the southwest, southeast, and eastbound ramps remain open. 44 News
