  • The Vanderburgh Humane Society rebranded its pet food assistance program as 'Margie's Pet Food Pantry' to honor longtime volunteer Margie Cox who died in 2024. The updated program now serves local families every three business days instead of once a month.  44 News

CRIME NEWS

  • Evansville Police arrested 63-year-old Michael Smith after a juvenile reported he molested her when she was 14—he had a prior conviction in Florida—and he was booked into Vanderburgh County Jail and must now register for life as a child sex offender.  14 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Evansville Museum of Arts, History & Science is showing a rare Picasso exhibit with almost 50 ceramic pieces (Picasso: 25 Years of Edition Ceramics, the Rosenbaum Collection) that will close on July 20 (the last day).  14 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Indiana Department of Transportation said Evansville drivers will face traffic changes as crews work on the U.S. 41 pavement replacement project. Starting around June 17, crews will re-open the approach from Virginia Avenue—traffic will remain in two lanes as the U.S. 41 southbound ramp to State Road 62 is closed for about three weeks and the State Road 66 westbound on-ramp for two weeks, with work ending by early September.  44 News
