- ➤ Autism Evansville’s Taking Steps for Autism Walk & 5K is scheduled for this Saturday at Vanderburgh 4H from 8 a.m. to noon after being rescheduled from April 19 due to stormy weather concerns, with the 5K race beginning at 8 a.m., awards at 9:15 a.m., family activities starting at 9 a.m., and the Kids Dash with a ribbon cutting at 10 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. 14 News

- ➤ Evansville Police said that around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Roosevelt McNeil died from injuries after a collision at the intersection of Weinbach and Keck when a driver reportedly lacked insurance—marijuana was also found in the vehicle. WEHT

- ➤ Evansville police arrested a teenager on Tuesday after reviewing video footage and charging him with gun possession in connection to a deadly weekend shooting along Taylor Avenue—officials said the investigation remains active. 44 News
- ➤ Dawnita Wilkerson disappeared on June 21 when she was last seen at One Life Studios and Suites on Green River Road getting into an SUV with two men—security cameras recorded her departure and her phone went off the next day—while detectives continue their investigation and urge anyone with information to come forward. - ➤ A federal judge sentenced 38-year-old Javier Moreno-Garibaldi to five-and-a-half years in prison followed by two years of supervised release for trafficking more than 60,000 fentanyl pills into Evansville—he pleaded guilty in March after transporting the pills from Phoenix for an undercover officer. - ➤ Officers arrested Shayla Bailey and Jadrion Griffin on Wednesday morning along I-64 after pulling them over for speeding when a K—9 alerted officers to nearly 6 pounds of cocaine found in two packages, with Bailey taken to Vanderburgh County jail and Griffin taken to Henderson County jail. 14 News

- ➤ The Evansville Museum is hosting a free Summer Solstice Celebration tomorrow (7:30 to 9:30 p.m.) on its front lawn, with the Evansville Astronomical Society guiding a sunset watch that marks the official start of summer. Courier & Press
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Downtown Evansville officials announced the launch of DORA— a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area where people 21 and older will be able to buy alcohol from licensed businesses and carry it in special cups— which will open on July 4th. The area will operate daily with weeknight hours of 4:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., weekend hours of 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and extended summer hours of 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in June and July. 14 News
- ➤ The Indiana Department of Transportation will restrict lanes on southbound U.S. 41 in Gibson County, closing one lane from County Road 925 South to County Road 990 South on July 10 for a pipe replacement project. After two days of alternating closures, the southbound lanes will be fully closed around July 14, and local traffic will detour via State Road 168 + I-69 to State Road 68. 44 News
