- ➤ An elderly man lost nearly $8,000 on June 20 when he was told over the phone to withdraw funds from three banks and deposit them into a bitcoin machine at the corner of Newburgh Road and Washington Avenue—police said the scam caller threatened to take his social security if he did not comply—and no arrests have been made. 44 News
- ➤ An Evansville family remains in distress after Dawnita Wilkerson disappeared five years ago when she was last seen leaving a local motel in a silver SUV on June 21, 2020 — she did not call her mother or daughters as usual, which led them to report her missing. 14 News
- ➤ An Evansville man (48-year-old Craig Barnett) was sentenced to 182 days in jail for resisting law enforcement after he jumped from a balcony to avoid arrest and hurt himself in the fall; he had reportedly threatened a former girlfriend with a knife before other charges were dropped as part of a plea deal. 14 News
