- ➤ Evansville Police arrested Lissandra Denis after witnesses reported her child was left outside from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Sunday in 96-degree heat without food or water—child services later placed the child with the father. 44 News
- ➤ Three men were arrested after allegedly assaulting a victim near the Evansville Dust Bowl Tournament on Saturday evening (Adrian Franklin, Deavion Hicks, and Jamaarion Buckner) with two released while Buckner faces felony gun possession and battery charges. 44 News
- ➤ An Evansville grandmother named Darlene Wills was arrested on Sunday for neglect, battery, and strangulation after a child showed police a video of her allegedly abusing a grandchild — she is now held in the Vanderburgh County Jail. 44 News
- ➤ Evansville Police arrested two roommates after they attacked their third roommate over rent near Conlin Avenue and Vann Avenue just before 1 p.m. on Sunday (one suspect held a knife to the victim's throat) and charged them with robbery as they remain without bond in county jail. 44 News
- ➤ Bobby Handegard, a 29-year-old Evansville man charged with the 2015 murder of DJ Shane Breedlove, began his trial Monday morning—authorities noted he remained a suspect even after his charges were initially dropped amid protests. 14 News

- ➤ The Lilly Endowment awarded University of Evansville a $500,000 grant to expand its youth programs—helping local students explore college and career opportunities.
