- ➤ The Evansville Housing Authority is opening a new community center in Jacobsville at Tennessee and Edgar Street — the renovated facility features a lounge, computer lab and food pantry while some rooms remain unleased for tenant customization and a foster care provider will move in soon. 14 News

- ➤ The trial of Bobby Handegard, accused of murdering local DJ Shane Breedlove in 2015, reached its third day as witnesses including Derrick Murray & police detective Micks Hacksworth testified while the defense introduced evidence such as unidentified phone calls and a black hat, and forensic tests showed Handegard’s DNA did not match. 14 News
- ➤ Evansville police are investigating a hit-and-run when a driver intentionally struck a pedestrian on Shanklin Street just before 9 p.m. Tuesday and then fled the scene—no arrests have been made. 44 News
- ➤ An Evansville man—Joe Lewis Moore III—was arrested after deputies found a loaded handgun in his vehicle during a search linked to his house arrest and is now facing charges for Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon. 14 News
- ➤ Evansville felon Joe Lewis Moore III was arrested after detectives from the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Drug Task Force searched his home and car on June 24, 2024, following anonymous complaints and finding a loaded .380 handgun and an unloaded 9mm—he now faces Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon while under electronic home detention after a May 31, 2024 sentence.
