CRIME NEWS

  • A jury found Evansville man Bobby Handegard not guilty in the 2015 murder of DJ Shane Breedlove — who was shot near Washington and Thompson avenues while walking to his gig — and Handegard was released from custody after nearly a decade in jail.  44 News
  • A 39-year-old man, Nicholas Collins, was charged with drunk driving on the westside after he sped and ran a red light on Maryland Street at 4:15 p.m. Friday — he admitted to drinking half a gallon of vodka and his breathalyzer showed a BAC of .369, over four times the legal limit.  14 News
  • Indiana State Police arrested 60-year-old Kirk Mobley after pulling him over on Green River Road near Hirsch Road just before 11:30 p.m. Friday when he was driving 35 mph over the limit; a breathalyzer test showed his blood alcohol level was .150 and he is now in jail.  14 News
  • Evansville man Kirk Mobley was arrested on June 27 when a trooper saw him driving 80 mph in a 45 mph zone on Green River Road near Hirsch Road—tests confirmed his impairment from alcohol with his blood alcohol level near .150 and he was later released.  44 News
  • Nicholas Collins, a 39-year-old driver, was arrested on June 27 after a traffic stop on Maryland Street showed he ran a red light and drove too fast and admitted to drinking about half a gallon of vodka—officers recorded his blood alcohol level at 0.369 but released him when they found no probable cause.  44 News
