  • The 169th Gibson County Fair kicked off on July 6 at the Gibson County Fairgrounds and will run through Saturday, featuring a demolition derby, live music, a carnival, and 4-H livestock shows.   • A 9-year-old boy died in an ATV accident in Spencer County on Saturday around 7:50 p.m. at 1150 North 1200 East—officials said multiple agencies responded and an autopsy was scheduled for July 6.  44 News

CRIME NEWS

  • Evansville police said 21-year-old Kevin Roblero hit a guardrail near Waterworks Road and Veterans Memorial Parkway at 12:40 a.m. on Sunday, drove on the wrong side, and failed a field sobriety test before driving half a mile and pulling over, when he was arrested for drunk driving + leaving the scene + resisting law enforcement.  14 News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported that gas prices in the Midwest fell last week to an average of $3.05 per gallon on Monday, down from $3.09 the week before; the national average was $3.16, and prices were 9% lower than a year ago +indicating a slight easing in fuel costs+.  Courier & Press
  • Apartment listing prices in Vanderburgh County increased in June as the average rent went from $1,052 in May to $1,067, a 1.4 percent rise and 2.8 percent higher than last year. One-bedroom and two-bedroom listings edged higher and remained below the state and national averages.  Courier & Press
