COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Twin moms, Madeline Majors and Erica Denney, gave birth at Tri-State hospital this week (Cooper was born July 8 and Archie was born July 9). The families now live together during renovations, so the mothers support each other as they raise their sons (the boys are expected to grow up as close friends).  14 News
  • New white street signs—with black lettering and the UE logo—have been installed around the University of Evansville. Most side streets received updated signs while a few intersections still use the old green design.  14 News

  • Evansville police reported that teenager Jashonti R. Boyd has been missing since June 19th at 3:00 p.m.—she was last seen wearing a red sweatshirt, black leggings and sporting black/blonde braids.  WEHT

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Residents in Vanderburgh County can ask questions about the proposed Bluegrass Creek Solar Project when Orion Renewables Energy Group hosts an informational session from 6-7 p.m. on July 16 (at Venue 812, 1401 N. Boeke Road). The 900-acre farmland (located near Interstate 69 and Indiana 57) is planned for solar development expected to add local jobs and county tax revenue while county commissioners tabled three related agreements in May amid neighbor concerns.  Courier & Press
