ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Warrick County School Corporation said that firefighters+emergency personnel responded to a fire at the Warrick Education Center with no injuries since the building was empty, and that several community members reported the incident. 14 News
- ➤ Crews from the Ohio Township Fire Department responded around 12:30 p.m. Saturday to heavy smoke and a partial roof collapse at Warrick Education Center—destroying the center section; the fire was controlled by 2:00 p.m. with no injuries reported and investigations into its cause ongoing. WEHT

- ➤ Deputies arrested three people on the county's north side on Saturday after serving a drug warrant at a home on the 5400 block of Elmhurst Drive—officials said they used gas to force 34-year-old Joseph Walker Jr. out of the basement after he resisted arrest. 14 News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Officials announced that Boehne Camp Road north of the Lloyd will close today for about 30 days for minor intersection improvements, affecting Perry Heights Middle School back to school transit. Work will continue intermittently through 2026 and drivers are advised to access the camp from the north rather than using the Lloyd. WEHT
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A center for health services research determined that 12 rural hospitals in Indiana and several in the Tri-State—one in Kentucky and Illinois—are at risk of closing because they have a high Medicaid payer mix or three consecutive years of negative margins. U.S. senators raised concerns in a letter dated June 12 that healthcare cuts may deepen financial strain on these facilities and affect patients. Courier & Press
