  • The Posey County Fair kicked off Monday in New Harmony — a meal was served at 5 p.m. followed by a 4-H Food Auction at 5:30 p.m. — and the professional rodeo began at 7 p.m. with bulls and trick riders.  14 News
  • The Warrick Humane Society kicked off its Annual Summer Online Silent Auction on July 14th and will accept bids through July 20th to raise funds for rescue animals at its no-kill shelter in Newburgh—officials said the event is one of its biggest fundraisers.  44 News

  • Evansville Police are asking for help investigating the 2020 murder of Troy Smith—who was found dead in his apartment on May 24th while his family offers a $5,000 reward—and anyone with tips is urged to call the Adult Investigation Unit at 812-436-7979 or Detective Wiseman at 812-436-4015.  WEHT
  • Evansville police are investigating a fraud case where a woman claimed a caller said she won a $1M sweepstakes prize—she later withdrew $2,800 from a bank and sent the funds by money order.  14 News
  • Two Evansville parents were arrested on neglect charges after their 2-month-old was brought to the hospital with 11 fractured ribs and bleeding eyes (both are held on $25,000 bonds) as part of a child abuse investigation.  44 News
  • Evansville police say a 17-year-old girl who left her job at Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers on Green River on July 8 remains missing as of Monday morning—officials ask anyone with information to call 911.  Courier & Press

  • Hartford Bakery Inc. is recalling six lots of its Lewis Bake Shop Artisan Style 1/2 Loaf bread sold at Kroger and Walmart in Indiana after it was discovered the loaves may contain visible hazelnuts not listed on the label—consumers with nut allergies are urged to return the product for a refund.  Courier & Press

  • At tonight's Evansville City Council meeting, city officials will discuss plans to convert the old Crawford Doors Building near Bosse Field into 136 apartments, commercial space, and a parking garage pending rezoning—council approval is required. Jimtown Holdings LLC, the building's owner, said more details on the proposal will be available in the coming weeks.  14 News
