- ➤ Two brothers, Kevin and Jeremy Martin, were arrested for theft and trespassing after police say they used lockout kits to break into vehicles at an Evansville towing company early Thursday, and authorities later found a truck with tools — electronics and fireworks. 44 News

- ➤ The Posey County Prosecutor’s Office added Mollie—a one-year-old Smooth Collie who finished 32 weeks of therapy training—to help comfort victims, and she already supported a child victim of sexual assault during a jury trial last week. 44 News
- ➤ WNIN President Tim Black said the station now faces a $1 million funding gap—following nearly $500,000 in state cuts from April—and will cut content and reduce staff while continuing to operate and seeking financial help. He released the statement on Friday, stressing that WNIN is not closing its doors. 14 News
- ➤ Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said Camp Atterbury will house immigrant detainees under a new federal plan designed to ease overcrowding in ICE facilities. The base—located 40 miles south of Indianapolis and managed by the Indiana National Guard—has previously housed evacuees, but officials have not said when or how many detainees will be held. - ➤ The new I-69 Ohio River Crossing bridge in Evansville is moving ahead as nearly 200 concrete beams—up to 188 feet long and weighing 100 tons each—will be delivered next week and continue through mid-September.
