- ➤ An Evansville contractor, Eric Morgan, was arrested on charges of theft & fraud after he allegedly took over $150,000 from a local homeowner for a room addition meant for her ill mother that was never completed. 44 News
- ➤ On Wednesday, animal control rescued 25 cats and dogs from a trailer on Evansville’s East Side and deputies arrested four individuals, Joshua Binkley, Shelia Jones, Shirley Martin, and Timothy Martin, on dozens of animal cruelty charges after officials found dead and near-starved animals in filthy conditions+ officials condemned the trailer for unsafe living conditions. - ➤ In a murder trial in Henderson, Ky.—the state and defense rested their cases for Evansville man Jaron Wells, who was arrested in Carrier Mills after his mother Shanay Hunt was found dead at her Harriet Street home—and a hung jury in February led to a mistrial. WEHT
- ➤ Four Evansville residents were arrested for animal cruelty after deputies found 11 dogs and 14 cats living in filthy, malnourished conditions in a trailer at Grandin Pointe Mobile Home Park—suspects admitted they neglected the animals and did not seek needed veterinary care. WEHT
- ➤ Vanderburgh County Sheriff's Office arrested Timothy Martin, Shirley Martin, Sheila Jones, and Joshua Binkley on 27 counts each of animal cruelty—investigation began when suspects brought a dead dog and a near-death dog, prompting deputies to find 25 malnourished animals in a trailer—after which the suspects admitted they had neglected the animals. 44 News
- ➤ An Evansville man was found guilty of killing his mother in 2023—Jaron Wells pleaded guilty to a firearm enhancement after he was arrested in Carrier Mills, Illinois two years ago, and his sentencing has not been scheduled. WEHT

- ➤ Cuts to the state budget will force eight schools to stop the Jobs for America's Graduates program—affecting 300 at-risk students who were set to learn job and life skills next fall.
